Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Balance of ripe red fruit and barrel spice. Decent tannins with respectable grip. Plenty of typical Pinot acidity, more apparent on the finish than the palate, keeping the ripe red fruit from getting too jammy. A good Pinot Noir from Elgin, made possible by the cooling effects of altitude and ocean winds. The tannins give some cellaring potential. Enjoy now with beef or lamb, or age for a few more years, so that it will match duck, mushroom, and game dishes.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A fairly simple and straightforward example of Pinot Noir. Very light notes of earthy forest floor on the nose and light cherry notes on the palate. Some fine tannins lend weight. Try it with veal or roast chicken. Tasted June 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
From the Elgin wine region, Kara Tara 2017 Pinot Noir is a cool-climate PN fragrant with wild cherry, red berry and earthy aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-plus-bodied with ripe cherry, earthy and savoury herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy, Still quite youthful, this PN would benefit from cellaring for three years or more. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
