Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is an absolutely delectable cool climate Syrah from NZ. It surprisingly skips any white pepper note and heads straight into pure, mineral-tinged plum, red briar and dried bing cherry notes. There’s some spice there, along with fresh herb and lots of aromatic fresh and dried purple flowers. The racy acidity brings a welcome weightlessness into the mix, rendering food pairings almost endless. 93 Points.
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From New Zealand Pure Discovery Wine Fair: Medium purple in colour, dry, full bodied and balanced acidity and tannin. The nose is pronounced intensity, with a good balance of black pepper, lavender, and violet, and black fruit. Tastes are equally balanced between fresh black pepper, lavender and violet, black fruit and soft cedar shavings. Long finish of black pepper, lavender and cedar.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Bursting with flavour, this fullbodied Syrah gives black fruit, plum, red apple, licorice and floral notes. Lively acidity and a savoury, peppery finish make this an exciting match for barbequed ribs or lamb burgers. Available in the May 11 Vintages release.

Sylvio Roy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This off-dry red is aged in new French oak. Dark red to an almost purple hue with leather, tobacco and chocolate on the nose and dark berries, leather and espresso on the palate with a nice long finish. 13.4% alcohol.
