Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

100% Cabernet Franc, usually lighter in style than Bordeaux and perhaps and some say a little more fragrant. Perhaps that is due to the fact that in Bordeaux Cab Franc is used more for blending and not as a single varietal. This value bottle offers deep ruby with purple hues and initial aromas of pepper, fresh cut green pepper( in a good way), dark berries, violets. Secondary aromas of tar, cedar, tobacco leaf. Palate stays true to aromas with the juicy black fruit and pepper taking centre stage and hanging in for the long finish. Try it tonight with pizza.
Tasted: December 2014
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A fairly classic Chinon, on the lighter side so likely little or no Cabernet Sauvignon (up to 10% permitted) in this Cabernet Franc wine.

Medium-purple & ruby in colour, medium intensity. A nose of black fruit (though not jammy) and savoury notes; dried herbs, touch of tobacco, and a spicy red liquorice.

Medium-plus acid, it's refreshing on the palate and follows through with similar fruits and herbal characteristics. Finish is medium-plus, with pepper and a hint of vegetal.

Tasted January 2015.
Unripe fruit with some stemmy notes on the tannic palate. Lots of acidity. Made from the Cabernet Franc grape which shows the bell pepper character. These vines grow in clay and limestone soils. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
