Joel Gott's does it again with the 2016 Zinfandel. Beautifully, rich, full-bodied and layered with ripe dark plums, red berry jam, sweet spice, vanilla and caramel flavours on the palate. This Zin was matured in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels. Pour with sticky, spicy pork ribs or beef sliders with all the trimmings.

Zinfandel food pairings: pizza, gourmet burgers, baby back ribs in a spicy sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Another great vintage of juicy Cali Zin. With big red and black berry fruit, earthy aged leather, a touch of smokiness, baking spice. Well balanced, integrated medium tannins and alcohol. Medium plus bodied. A fantastic pairing with gourmet hamburgers, Chile con carne. Also easily enjoyable on its own. Tasted the 2016 vintage in March 2019 after decanting 2 hours. 92 points #goodvalue
This is a spicy, rich and full-bodied 100% Zin with layers of ripe dark fruits, red berry jam and sweet cake spice on the palate, lingering with a vanilla and caramel finish on the palate. Matured in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels. Pour barbequed fare. - Community Wine Reviews
