Blueberry jam with some pepper with blackberry preserves mid-palate. Rich, round and full-bodied. This is technically a dry wine but it has jammy, fleshy sweet fruit aromas and flavours. If you love shiraz from warm regions in Australia, you'll love this.

Reviews and Ratings

James Belardo rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

My first impressions of the Jasci & Marchesani Nerubè Riserva Montepulciano D'abruzzo were "‘whoa’ is that chocolate?" Then flavors of berries hit my palate and I was pleasantly surprised. I did not expect this level of sophistication from a wine at this price point - period. This wine has made it close to the top of my go-to list.

I'd say that the best pairing for this lovely wine would be foods that are spicy and slightly bitter such as pasta dishes like Cavatelli with Rapini and Spicy Sausage or a good Putanesca with olives and chilies. It would also make a nice compliment to stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls.

Established in 1960, Jasci & Marchesani has been organic since 1978. Their Nerubè Riserva Montepulciano d'Abruzzo offers up notes of crushed berries (think blueberry and blackberry), vanilla, tar and chicory with a touch of warm earth. The palate is equally complex and layered with a seam of vivid acidity keeping everything balanced. Very nice. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Feb. 2013
