Reviews and Ratings

Neil Phillips rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep dark with slight garnet on the rim, the nose was heavy with blackberry jam, peppery fruit cake, mint. Added aromas of freshly-picked mushrooms still covered in dirt. Vanilla and saddle leather.

On the palate, fruits are full on the mouth, but not aggressive. Savoury notes are more chutney than jam. Spice is prevalent bud well-integrated, everything about the wine comes in gentle lapping waves as opposed to the usual full assault. But shy this is not: it's a whallop of flavor. Long finish, ending more on the herbal than fruity side.

This held up remarkably well, and most definitely gained complexity after a decade. Great value.
