Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From Niagara, this medium-bodied white wine is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. Herbal and grassy aromas with apple and stone fruit on the palate. The Semillon contributes to a higher viscosity to the wine and with the acidity, this White Meritage is very smooth for being extra dry. The finish is bright, pairing well with seafood and fish.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

80/20 Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon. The Savvy dominates the nose, typically fresh, not too far either way in terms of ripeness. It is not overly grassy and green, nor is it tropical and flat, but brimming with citrus, grapefruit, apple, and pear, and accented by melon. The Semillon is not a huge part of the nose now, but I could see a little kernel and nut appearing with age. Four to six hours of skin contact helped to extract just a hint of grass and herbaceous styling. Crisp, dry, and ideal for a grilled chicken salad.
From the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario wine region, Jackson-Triggs Grand Reserve 2018 white Meritage is well-balanced with fresh apple, pear, melon with food-friendly acidity. Pair with grilled chicken and shellfish. - Community Wine Reviews
