A charry, blackened fruit and oak Californian Zinfandel. Lavish oak aging. Full-bodied and fairly smooth. Vines are planted on hillsides. Demands barbecued meat. OTHER: The 2013 Zinfandel Mother Clone offers loads of spice, in a rather classic Zinfandel that elegantly carries its 14.9% natural alcohol. Loads of berry fruit, raspberries, cherries, a dark ruby/plum color and plenty of spice and pepper are all present in this supple Zinfandel to drink over the next 5-7 years. Drink Date: 2016-2023. - Community Wine Reviews

Reviews and Ratings

Paul Lupinacci rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This wine is dark in colour with plum aromas. On the palate, the flavours are plum and blackberry with strong tannins. The medium finish is peppery.
From Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County in California, J Pedroncelli Winery's Mother Clone (2013) is a 'big red' Zinfandel at 14.7%. This spicy wine is a classic Zinfandel with ripe red berry fruit and spicy peppery finish. Drink now or cellar for five years. - Community Wine Reviews
