Full-bodied, but not heavy. Attractive aromas of dark chocolate, black plum and blackberry. Good mouth-watering action on the palate for food. Pair with a coffee-rubbed steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast leg of lamb, beef enchiladas, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

J. Lohr Carol's Vineyard 2014 is a full-bodied 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Petit Verdot red wine blend from St. Helena, Napa Valley, California. This is a single vineyard wine with blackberry jam, dark chocolate, vanilla and cake spice flavours on the palate. This year marks the tenth anniversary of J. Lohr’s partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. "The Touching Lives" initiative began when the Lohr family designated the J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon a commemorative release in honour of founder Jerry Lohr’s late wife. Carol Lohr passed away in 2008 due to complications from breast cancer. Today, $3 from every purchase of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Since the program’s inception, sales from J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard releases have supported early breast cancer detection, access to mammograms, patient navigation systems, and the delivery of HOPE Kits (a gift box of comforting items) to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. These programs continue to build on a partnership that has funded over 6,500 mammograms for women who otherwise would not be able to afford them. - Community Wine Reviews
