Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby in colour, medium intensity nose, dry, medium acidity and tannin with full body. Predominant aroma of sweet spice and vanilla with some black fruit. Tastes of vanilla, sweet spice and dark fruit. The wine spent some time in oak.
Ironstone Merlot is a crowd-pleaser not only because it is well-priced but its flavours profile is consistent and this 2017 vintage is no different. Mocha-dark chocolate, plushy plum and smoky on the nose, this is a full-bodied California Merlot with black plum compote, savoury herbs and plenty of smoky oak spice flavours on the palate. I see wine Wednesday and a meat lover's pizza in its future. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
