A mocha-rich red with dark depths of black plums, fleshy blackberries and other brooding dark fruit. Round, full-bodied and balanced with a lovely finish. This wine is a blend of 78% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignn. It was aged 12 months in French and American oak.

Meritage food pairings: steak, hamburgers, lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

This 2006 Meritage is a classic combination of three red wines: Merlot 78%, Cabernet Franc 19%, and Cabernet Sauvignon 3%. All components of this complex, elegant wine underwent extended fermentation on the grapes' skins followed by barrel aging in French and American oak barrels for 12 months.

Careful blending of the individually crafted wines yeilded a deep purple toned wine ripe cherry and chocolate aromas, firm tannins, and rich flavours of vanilla-infused oak and plums.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
