Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Inviting warm hay, concentrated dried fruit and hint of tobacco greet you on the nose. The palate is clean with dried fruit and nutty notes. A bit of slate-like minerality showing as well. Drinking beautifully right now with a delicious, lingering finish. This will also stand up to several years of cellaring. This beauty would pair well with osso bucco or lamb shanks. Tasted February 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 50/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Brunello, 100% Sangiovese grape, presents blackbery and peppery aromas with hints of smoke. An extra dry wine, with dark fruit persisting on the palate and contributing to the smoothness of medium acidity and tannins. A dry and herbal finish. Decant or age even further. Pair with beef carpaccio or other beef appetizers, and aged cheeses. Tasted February 2020.
From the Tuscany wine region, Il poggione 2013 is a fragrant Brunello Di Montalcino with ripe dark fruit, black cherry, spiced plum and toasty nut aromas on the nose. A beautifully balanced and powerful Sangiovese, bold and lush on the palate with a linger dried wild herb and flinty finish. Great cellaring candidate Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
