Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Probably the worst looking label in the history of wine, these fellows seem to focus all their attention on what's in the bottle. Beautiful flavours of blackberries, black currants, tar, and a touch of coffee complement the whiff of flowers on the nose. This is a wonderful mouthful of wine. Beautiful clarity and precision. Unreal wine for under 20 bucks. 93 Points. Highly Recommended. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Sarah Emilson rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour; and a nose that expresses plums, blackberries, black cherries, tomato plant, licorice, pencil shavings, allspice, cigar smoke and violets. A dry wine with high acidity that leans towards the higher end of medium in body, alcohol, and tannins. Flavours of black cherry, plum, blackberry, allspice, licorice and truffle that lead into an earthy medium length finish. This is a good quality wine that can be enjoyed now or held for another 3-5 years based on it's healthy tannin structure. This wine tastes like a super Tuscan ought to taste: Italian at heart but benefiting from french oak and modern winemaking techniques. This wine will pair well with hearty/meaty pasta dishes that have a tomato based sauce (eg lasagna) and hard/mature Italian cheeses.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
