Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Candied, ripe stonefruit and pineapple, pear, persimmon, flowers, asian spice…syrupy. Great little sweet wine. 89 points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Anthony Hillman - WSET ADV rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep golden In the glass, with aromas of dried apricot, baked apple, currant, and straw. Well balanced, smooth, and luxurious, with medium-sweet juicy flavours of ripe red apple, ripe peach, honey, and orange peel. Pair with desserts such as peach tart or orange trifle, blue cheese, or the Blue Danube waltz.
Good now, with bottle ageing potential of several more years.

Tasted January 2015

Notes from the back label:

- from Neusiedlersee, Burgenland

- made with botrytis affected Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Scheurebe, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes with >30 Brix at harvest
The Hafner winery is located in Moenchhof, Austria’s oldest wine-growing community, where they’ve been cultivating grapes since 1217. This sweet wine is a straw-gold colour. The peach-and-floral nose is inviting, and the flavours of apricot, candy, and sweet, ripe pear circulate on the palate. There’s a spicy note, too, when it reaches its finish. A great value, you’ll want experience this sweet wine. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
