I've said it before (almost every vintage) and I'll say it again: this is one of favourite Niagara chardonnays! Halenit wraps voluptuously around a core of fleshy, bright sun-ripened peach. Bring happiness some happiness into your life.

Chardonnay food pairings: pork roast, seafood pasta in a cream sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2009 Hidden Bench Felseck Vineyard Chardonnay, with fruit sourced from the Felseck Vineyard having plantings dating back to 1988, has intense aromas of unripe pear, unripe currants on the nose and pear and light oak toast on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with good, palate cleansing acidity and a long, smooth, subtly oaky finish. Enjoy this wine on-its-own; drink now – 2018+. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 92 pts – recommended for its quality. Tasted Nov/13.

Hidden Bench farms the vineyard sustainably and donates 1% of their revenues to environmental initiatives. Wonderfully rich aromas of buttercream, yellow plum, apple, nectarine, cinnamon and smoke. Dry and very elegant, bright and refreshing, with surprising presence and intensity given its litheness. Long, layered finish with expert oak embroidery. A beautiful Chardonnay. Savour it over the next 5+ years. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.
