Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Hester Creek Estate Winery Block 3 Reserve Cabernet Franc 2016 is produced from select barrels of estate-cellared, old vines Cabernet Franc from the Golden Mile Bench in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Love the nose on this dry, medium-plus-bodied Cab Franc with intense raspberry, woodsy, campfire, cracked pepper aromas that open up into smoked meat and bacon aromas (how can you not love a wine that has a mouth-watering, smoky bacon nose?!)

Elegant, richly layered with a mouthful of crushed black raspberry, cherry liqueur, dark chocolate covered plums, baked eggplant, green pepper flavours on the palate finishing long with cedar and juniper spice. Tannins are fine but grippy. Decant for one hour and pair with a venison striploin steak or tame in cellar for three to five years.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Smoky and savoury! Aromas of mocha, red currant, savoury bacon (in a good way!), smoke and black pepper. Lush and full bodied, with lots of raspberry and currant on the palate with some bright acidity and a smoky, peppery finish. Enjoy with your next BBQ.
