Reviews and Ratings

Alana L rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

At Taverne F tonight to say farewell to this beloved Quartier des Spectacles restaurant as it cedes it’s lovely space after 10 years to a new project. With a perfect view on the temporary art installation ‘Luminothérapie Pop!’ and it’s five enigmatic monoliths where the POP! creatures live, I’m enjoying a glass of Mariana Herdade Do Rocim, Alentejano Portugal, 2018 (the joys of arriving unfashionably early due to a complete and mysterious lack of traffic)!

Named after the 17th century Franciscan nun Mariana Alcoforado, this wine is made with an assemblage of regional varietals: Antão Vaz 60%, Arinto 30% and Alvarinho 10% - it’s rich in freshness, fruit and minerality. Light on the nose, with a medium-body it offers notes of fruit (citrus, pear, mango) and flower blossoms with balanced texture and acidity and a fresh, medium finish. Scored 92 at the Decanter World Wine Awards it’s uncomplicated and ‘oh so easily drinkable’!

Cheers friends!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
