Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From Portugal's Alentejano region, a elegant blend of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet. Beautiful dark ruby colour with dark fruit and violet aromatics. Delicious rich palate with layers of ripe dark fruit, spice, savoury and smokey touches. Dry, very smooth with a silky finish. Portuguese wines offer tremendous value and quality.Tasted Oct. 2016
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Luxurious deep ruby, almost opaque in colour leaves no question as to the concentration of red and black fruit in this Portuguese red wine. A lift of mint on the nose and palate as well as some warm spiciness and dried herbs. Banish this baby to the cellar for a few years to tame the youthful tannins. If you are going to enjoy it tonight, however, I suggest decanting at least two hours. Serve with a good piece of red meat to accompany the tannins. Good value at $18. Buy 2.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A deep ruby red alluring aromatic Portuguese red wine with berry, cassis, floral and graphite notes. The palate is overtaken by young grippy tannins. Most of the fruit flavours are buried by an austere mouthfeel, but the acidity is high and magical, toning down the tannins in the long earthy finish. Age for 7-10 years.
