Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Henry of Pelham Family Tree, from Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, is a delicious red blend, with Syrah 40% Merlot 30%, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and a touch of Baco Noir 5%. Shows a fragrant nose with ripe strawberries, raspberries, cassis, slight spice and a yummy red fruit palate with vanilla, baking spice and herbal elements. Full-bodied, complex, very well-integrated, smooth and mouth-watering with a long spicy red fruit finish. Tastes like more! Will definitely buy this again.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This red wine blend from the Speck Brothers doesn't disappoint the sipper. Syrah and Merlot take centre stage in this wine with Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Baco Noir playing supporting roles. Dark and luxurious with aromas and flavours of cassis, red berries, black cherry, plum, chocolate, tobacco leaf, sweet cigar, graphite and black pepper. Holy Moly! There's plenty of cleansing acidity in this medium(+) bodied Niagara beauty. Lingering cherry and black pepper finish. Highly recommend. Pair with a fine cut of beef and grill it.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I've tried other vintages of this wine, and it's consistently great. This is a lovely blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cab Franc, Cab Sauvignon and Baco Noir. There are notes of each in the wine, with a complex blend of aromas, including tobacco and leather, smoke, deep berry fruit, black pepper and dried herbs. A lovely balance of those flavours on the palate as well. The finish is lingering and some nice acid keeps this from being too heavy. I enjoyed this with a steak, but would stand up to a variety of hearty dishes and anything you might grill on the BBQ. Enjoy! (March 2016)
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine really exudes characteristic notes of cherry, plum and candied walnuts. The palate doesn't disappoint with well structured tannins and a lingering chocolate covered cherry finish.
