Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A crisp dry white that shows the typicity of the Sancerre Appelation. The rolling limestone hills add a mineral note to this mouth watering Sauvignon Blanc. Aromas of lemon and white tropical fruit. High acidity and a long citrus finish. This was paired with a Prawn and Chive Dumpling broth soup at a recent dinner and everyone agreed it was a great match! Tasted February 12, 2017
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Henri Bourgeois is highly regarded for the consistent high quality of their wines - from more entry level offerings to the premium tier.

Les Baronnes 2014 is quite restrained on the nose, with subtle minerality and lemon aromas. The palate is classically styled, with the usual taut austerity of Sancerre. However, it lacks the concentration, complexity and persistence of the best of the appellation. For the price, this is a well crafted white offering solid value.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lemony, bright, crisp, subtle herbal note with a slight creaminess on the palate.
Best with light fish dishes and salads.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
