Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Love the Bub 2016 from Haywire! A lively sparkler with a persistent mousse, bone-dry, full-bodied and textured with toasted white bread, bright apple crunch, zesty lemon citrus finishing long with vibrant acidity. Clean, super crisp and addictive, particularly in this heat! We chilled it and had the second bottle with Peruvian scallop ceviche, sweet chili salmon poke and chilled fresh steamed lobster.

Produced by winemakers, Matt Dumayne and Jordan Kubek from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Secrest Mountain Vineyard in Oliver and the Watkin Family Vineyards in Summerland, British Columbia. Grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks prior to bottling in December 2014. Disgorged January 2015 with zero dosage added. Tasted June 21 2021.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
