Natalie's Score: 91/100

A full-bodied red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Syrah sourced from several vineyards in the Bogheri. Fermentation was in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 10 to 15 days. A part of the Merlot and Syrah must was fermented at lower temperatures to better conserve varietal aromas. Malolactic fermentation took place partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. The wine was racked and matured in small oak barrels for seven months prior to bottling. Fresh blackberry, black currant, dried wild herbs finishing flinty and briny on the palate. Decant for one hour prior to serving with a roast beef dinner, or hold in cellar for another year or two for the wine to mellow out.

Food pairings: grilled hanger steak, Porchetta, meat and pasta dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A modern and fruit-forward Super Tuscan blend crafted from 60/30/10 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Syrah. Ripe and jammy black cherry, blackcurrant, and plum over generous oak notes of vanilla, cocoa, and coffee. Full body, integrated acidity, and soft tannins. Finish resonates with jammy dark fruit and oak spice. Gentle dried herbs and violets with breathing. Quite accessible and easy drinking for the blend at this young age. Pair with saucy barbecued ribs or pork tenderloin with a dark berry reduction.
Guado Al Tasso Il Bruciato 2017 is a savoury, full-bodied red wine produced by Antinori in the Tuscany wine region. Deep ruby in the glass, look for ripe berry fruit, cake spice and a toasty oak aromas on the nose. Lovely and complex with dark cherry, black currant, sanguine, flinty and dried wild herb flavours on the palate. Power without the price of a "super-Tuscan" . Pair with an Italian pot roast. - Community Wine Reviews
