Grgich Hills 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dry, full-bodied 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc red wine blend sourced from the winery's Yountville, Rutherford and Calistoga vineyards. The Cabernet Sauvignon is out of the Napa Valley and all vineyards are certified organic without the use of artificial pesticides or herbicides. Look for pink rose petal, ripe dark and red berry aromas mirrored on the palate with dark plum, black olive, cinnamon and ginger spice flavours elegant, smooth and concentrated on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Drink or hold in cellar for 10-plus years. Mike Grgich was responsible for making the 1973 Chateau Montelena wine that beat many of its French contenders in the Judgement of Paris.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: lamb Bolognese, beef enchiladas, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
