A superb, full-bodied BC red wine made from the classic grape Cabernet Sauvignon. Supple and fairly smooth tannins. Aromas of smoke, toasty oak and black plums. Pair with rare meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Samer Forzley rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

I love the smell of this wine. On the nose, dark fruit, cassis, vanilla, dark cherry, blueberry, prune, leather, barn, smoke, tobacco leaf, cigar box, earthy.

Taste of cherry, tobacco, and cassis are primary. A bit peppery/spicy on the finish

Balanced, mid+ acid, mid+ tannins, mid-long finish with cherry and cassis. A nice wine and will pair well with grilled meat.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour with teaming with aromas of blackberry, cassis, cherry, smoke, leather, vanilla and blueberry. It is full bodied with well balanced acidity and tannins. On the palate you get flavours of red and black berries, smoke and black pepper. This will pair well with a grilled steak or BBQ’d ribs. Tasted on September 16, 2018.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I can definitely get behind this wine, it's oak notes gently wrap around the core of black cherry, plum, cedar, herb, and tobacco notes. The price is a little high but hey, I'd still take it to the dance. 91 Points.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Punchy and firm, this Cabernet from Gray Monk is delicious and fun.
It sees a whallop of new French oak, but carries it effortlessly.
Deep garnet hues, lots of dried herbs too. The fruit are quite present. Varietally on the mark cassis and blackberry.
Full bodied flavours of blackberry, anise, smoke, and some dusty tannins on the end. Good acodity still. Yum.
Put this one with braised lamb, or maybe some sous vide steak.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Leather and cherry aromas with a hint of smoke. Full bodied with flavours of cherry and cedar and a long lingering finish.

Would pair well with a Friday night, a large wedge of Beemster cheese and great conversation.

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Gray Monk Odyssey, a family owned winery, offers the Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, from the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Dark skin plum, dark cherry, rose, fennel, vanilla and oak emanate from your glass. Medium-bodied with a leafy finish, this Cabernet Sauvignon reveals tastes of tart plum, rose, mint, dark chocolate and pine. Still fresh and young, this wine will be at its best with strong cheese. Enjoy.
