Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This elegant ruby coloured Malbec has a beautiful nose with juicy plum and vanilla aromas along with violet, leather, oak, cloves, black pepper and herbal notes.

Luscious tart plum flavours come through on the palate and ends with cloves, cinnamon, and cedar notes. It is moderately full bodied with tannins that are present but smooth and a nice long finish. I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Great value!

Full-bodied Malbec with Damson plum, mocha and delightful herbal touches. Delicious match with roast pork or lamb.

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Bold and dark, this wine comes from the high-altitude Salta appellation of Argentina. It is a but different from Mendoza.
Up high, the grapes are exposed to higher UV light and grow thicker skins as a result.
This one certainly got its deep colour from those skins. Deep and brooding. It could use time in the cellar out to smooth out the tannins.
Violet, plum, and camphor.
Flavours of fleshy plum amd cherry, coffee, and apple skin. Fresh acidity. It is still early days for this well structured wine. An impressive cellaring wine. Pair it with barbecued mushrooms.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blueberry and blackberry, mingled with smoke and leather. Full bodied and rich on the palate, with some firm tannins and bright acidity. Pair with grilled steak or mushrooms.
Graffigna's Vesparo 2017 is a medium-plus bodied Malbec from the Calchaqui Valley perfumed with savoury and garrigue herbs. On the palate, the Malbec is silky with ripe raspberry, dried herbs, tobacco and leathery flavours. Decant for one hour prior to pouring with a big juicy steak, but better from 2020 on. - Community Wine Reviews
