Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Duckhorn produce a wonderful range of serious Pinot Noir, but the Goldeneye line represents the understanding of terroir in small parcels. This is only the entry level for the Goldeneye line, but even though it reached into the premier cru bracket for entry level Burgundy it is still good value, if you know what you are tasting.
Delicate medium ruby, with some browning on the edge of the glass. Rustic funk on the nose resembling dried leaves, tobacco, mushroom, roses, macerated berries, cranberry, overripe cherry, and a bit of cinnamon stick.
The flavours show some evolution. Rosehip, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, nutmeg and brown spice, mushroom in butter, vanilla. It may be unfair to judge this wine's potential when it is so young.
Root veggies roasted in brown butter would be my ideal pairing with this... Maybe duck too...
