Pretty and floral but not over the top in aromatics. Delicate and full of character. Perfect for mild curry and spice dishes. Nice aperitif too.

Viognier food pairings: sautéed diver scallops with celery root and citrus, chicken, pork, mild curries and spices.

Reviews and Ratings

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

California Viognier in its richest expression - ripe stone fruit, complex perfume, and sultana with full body, and long length on the warming finish.
Pair with BBQ pork or chicken, or savour on its own.
Drink now, or cellar until 2017.
Date tasted: January 2015.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An elegant Viognier from California with floral and stone fruit aromas and flavors with some tropical fruit and citrus appearing on the palate and the lingering finish. Well balanced with nice acidity. Pair with Pad Thai or almond crusted halibut.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rows of orange blossoms under California sunshine was the first aroma that struck my senses. Elegant and pretty with wind blowing petals to the ground. Secondary aromas and flavours of peach, apple, citrus, honeysuckle, honey, pineapple and minerality. The wine is dry with medium acidity. The finish is long and creamy with a slight oiliness. An enjoyable alternative to California Chardonnay. Drink now.
Pair with grilled chicken with mango chutney, warm Asian pear and goat cheese salad, shellfish.
Tasted: January 2015
This vibrant Californian white wine is very floral and bursting with character. It's made by the Delicato Family Vineyards under the Gnarly Head label. Pair with mild curries. - Community Wine Reviews
