Juicy ripe black plum aromas and flavours on the nose and palate of this this delightful South African Cabernet Sauvignon. Supple on the palate and full-bodied but balanced. The label shows a sculpture by the French artist Maxim Real Del Sarte of the winemaker May de Lencqesaing when she was just 23 years old. This wine is aged for 24 months in new French old barrels. Pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled game burgers, meatlover's pizza, bobtje.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Sheer decadence in the glass - aromatic plum and cassis on the inviting bouquet with a flavors of tobacco, coffee grinds, pepper, cigar box, leather and blackberry. The tannins grip the inside of the mouth with layers of chocolate dipped blueberries and dark chocolate shavings coming through on the mid palate. The finish is long with black licorice and spice. Superb! Drink now or cellar for a few years.
Glenelly Lady May 2011 is a robust, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. Black is its heart with blackberry, black currant, pepper and cedar spice. Tannins are grippy, but this is a beauty that will age well. Drink now and decant for one hour prior to serving with a grilled steak done rare, or hold in cellar for three years. - Community Wine Reviews
