Natalie's Score: 91/100

Aromas of big juicy purple plums and blueberries and mocha on this Italian blockbuster, and very Zinfandel-like, which makes sense given the grape connection to Primitivo. A supple and full-bodied red wine with a good-natured heart of hedonism. The Giordano family has been making wine since 1900 in the warm climate of Puglia in southern Italy. Primitivo is the flagship grape of southern Italy, especially Puglia. The grapes grow on low-yield vines. Perfect for casual dinner parties with people you like.

Food pairings: grilled hot Italian sausages, barbecued ribs, chicken wing, hamburgers with relish, game.

Reviews and Ratings

Love this big, warm Italian red wine made from the Primitivo grape (aka Zinfandel)! The vines are trained for low yields to ensure concentrated flavour. Intensely packed with dark fruit flavour and dark chocolate. Pair with wild and grilled meats and spicy cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
