Produced by Gérard Bertrand, this is a juicy and savoury red blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Dry, medium-bodied with bright red raspberry, cherry, wild herb, anise and cracked pepper spice flavours vibrant on the palate. Pair with a roast leg of lamb.

Syrah Mourvèdre Grenache food pairings: roast leg of lamb, lamb liver and sautéed sweet onions.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This red blend was impressive. Energetic and attractive aromas of eucalyptus, sweet cassis, juicy cranberry and cedar introduced a mid-weight palate brimming with juicy dark fruit and intense spicy flavours. Super dry with an inviting moderate tannin profile, too. Overall, a superb experience. Pair this Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre blend with rich beef stews. Enjoy.

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pleasing deeply coloured red wine, medium tannin, dry, balanced acidity and pronounced aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, black plum, vanilla, violet, and black pepper. Aromas were repeated in the palate. Paired nicely with Gouda and Edam; very nice on its own.
Les Aspres 2017 is a savoury and smooth, full-bodied red blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache. Look for fresh red cherry, raspberry, wild herbs and pepper spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and silky. So good now. Pour with a roast beef dinner. - Community Wine Reviews
