Reviews and Ratings

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Rich with black berry, black cherry, coffee, chocolate, savoury and spice flavours, this wine has long length on the warming finish.
Pair with grilled meats, or game paté.
Drink now or cellar until 2020.
Date tasted: November 2012.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Deep rich purple colour. Oak is pronounced on the nose, along with dark fruit, spicy pepper and a hint of anise. Smoother than expected on the palate (after being opened up for a while), flavours are similar to the aromas, with medium tannins and a good balance of fruit and oak. Great with some meat off the BBQ!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Sour cherry, blackberry, smoke, and cedar. The taste is blackberry and raspberry. there's a touch of young tannins as well, making this a good wine for rare red meats.
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Wyndham Estate George Wyndham Founder's Reserve Shiraz has appealing aromas of stewed plum, toasted oak and vanilla (derived from a notable use of Quertannin additives). It is a medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with checked acidity, refined tannins (decant for 15-30 min) and a medium finish. Drink with dominant dishes; drink now to 2016+ (screw cap enclosure). My impression: DRINKABLE BUT WHY, 85-86 pts. Tasted Apr/14.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
