Gallo's Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and dark with a bit of Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah added to the blend for its deep garnet colour and savoury perfume. Rich with layers of black and blueberry compote, savoury herbs, earthy and smoky. Good for the cellar or decant for two hours and enjoy now with a juicy grilled ribeye steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled steak, roast chicken, gourmet hamburgers, pot roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A shade of dark purple that is nearly black and opaque, impressively deep shade. The complex nose leads with barrel notes consisting of sweet oak spice, smoke, and toasty cocoa. Fruit is present but hidden until sufficient decanting allows the ripe blueberry, blackberry, and blackcurrant to emerge. Palate is similarly concentrated with dominant oak and supporting dark fruit. Big on all structural fronts with healthy doses of tannin, acid, and body. An impressive wine capable of aging. Pair this gem with bacon-wrapped filet mignon between 2020 and 2030.
A beautiful, deep dark purple Cabernet Sauvignon with a smattering of Petit Verdot and Petit Sirah added to the blend from the Napa Valley opens with aromas of smoky, dark plums, olive and fresh vineyard earth nose, dry, full-bodied with ripe dark plums, blueberry compote, black olive, savoury herbs, mocha and smoky toasty oak flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy and there is great acidity for food on this red beauty. Great now but will be so much better if cellared for another five years. - Community Wine Reviews
