Lime-fresh liveliness that makes a wonderful aperitif or an accompaniment to many dishes. Zesty and vibrant with green apple notes.

Pinot Grigio food pairings: seasonal treats such as fresh fruit salad or grilled sea bass, or as a contrast to mildly spiced Asian recipes.

Reviews and Ratings

Pinot Grigio is a classic Italian varietal, prized for its crisp texture and refreshing mouthfeel. Gallo Family Vineyards has successfully cultivated it in specially selected California vineyards. Because of California's unique climate and the new technologies available to winemakers, Gallo Family Vineyards Pinot Grigio has a style of its own.

HARVEST
The 2008 season started off with a moderate spring and summer with early budbreak and early harvest. We had a consistent growing season throughout, intense flavours
developed and winemaking was pleased with a great harvest.

WINEMAKING
Winemakers used several different techniques at key stages of the winemaking process to preserve the delicate flavor of the harvest. The grapes were loaded into a membrane
press soon after reaching the winery. Such a press slowly and carefully extracts the juice with a minimum of roughness or abrasion so that flavor is captured without excessive amounts of tannin. In addition, the juice was fermented for an extended period of time at reduced temperatures. This
technique insures that the delicate nuances of fruit character will come forward in the finished wine.
TASTING NOTES
Gallo Family Vineyards 2008 Pinot Grigio is medium body and displays a vibrant quality. A fruity showcasing apple and citrus flavours. Balanced fruit with acidity, nice mouth feel with hints of orange blossom and peaches on the finish.
