Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a great introduction to Chianto Rufina. This has all of the extroverted fruity freshness Rufina is known for. Very cool nights mean lots of vital acids to keep the fruit fresh for years. It ages well because of this. Also, what a friendly price!
Bright and inviting electric ruby-red.
Juicy and plump notes of red fruit: cherry, red plum, currant, and some licorice and bay.
So crisp amd easy to drink. Moderately complex, but undeniably well-made.
Put this happy little red with some smoked duck, ibirico ham, or maybe some fresh pasta.
As a side note, this Chianti Rufina is made with the traditional Tuscan combo of Sangiovese, Colorino, and Canaiolo. Some of the rules for Chianti's regions have increasingly allowed international varietals (Cab and Syrah, mostly) to become officially accepted grapes. Let's keep it traditional, shall we? Leave the international grapes to the IGT category.
From the Tuscany wine region, Galiga E Vetrice (2016) is a 90% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo and 3% Colorino Chianti Rufina. Ripe cherries, raspberries, savoury spice and very juicy with a zesty acidity, this Chianti is looking to pair with a rich and meaty tomato sauce dish. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
