Superbly made. Elegant, balanced with exotic layers of flavour in this full-bodied Italian red wine. Everything comes together without any one element dominating. Long finish. This robust red is a blend of Nebbiolo, Cabernet and Merlot grapes from the Piedmontese DOC region, Langhe. The climate here allows nurtures these grape varieties, which allows true stars like this producer to take their artistry to a new level. Try it with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: mature cheese, rare cuts of meat, risotto with mushrooms.

Reviews and Ratings

Josh Manning rated this wine as 93/100
Angelo Gaja is one of the rock stars of the wine world, and an iconic figure for Italian winemaking. He's credited with making Barbaresco world famous as a robust red wine from northern Italy. This is a blend of Nebbiolo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Gaja's Sito Moresco vineyard in the Langhe. The wine is matured for 18 months in oak barriques and another 5 months in the bottle before it's released to the market. - Community Wine Reviews
