Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A unique wine, since Abruzzo is known for its generously full bodied reds. This wine was made in the Charmat/Martinotti method, in large temperature controlled vats. It's made with Aglianico (ah-YAH-nico), which is usually mostly grown in neighbouring Basilicata to the south.
The Aglianico grape is darkly pigmented, so it was easy to extract it's cherry-red colouration. The bubbles are fine, but not terribly persistent, which indicates it's a soft, gentle sparkling.
The aromas are super fruity, with apple skin, pomegranate, and cherry being the most forward.
Juicy replays of those red cherry and pomegranate fruit are mainly what should be expected. It's a dry sparkling without a tremendous acidity or minerality; something many sparklings have. That makes this pretty accessible for those just getting into sparkling.
It pairs very well with Jamaican spices and cuisine. It would also be a good wine for Easter turkey or ham.
From Italy's Abruzzo wine region, Fantini Gran Cuvée is a pretty Rosé made from the Aglianico grape. This sparkler is pale pink and bright with mouthwatering acidity to match its strawberry compote and sour cherry flavours and citrusy finish. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
