From Frescobaldi, Tenuta Perano Rialzi Gran Selezione 2016 Chianti Classico is one of the best in the Frescobaldi portfolio. Bright, fresh and elegant with ripe dark fruits, sweet-tart cherry, blue florals, toasty oak spice and chalky, flinty mineral flavours. Beautifully-balanced and, well, just beautiful. Pour with ossobuco or roast duck.

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione food pairings: meaty lasagne, cheesy pizza, veal Parmesan.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely! Aromas of cherry and dried strawberry, with hints of bramble, earth, warm spice, and leather. Medium+ bodied with bright acidity on the palate, and lots of red berry notes that are ripe and rounded, quite fresh and very flavourful. Hints of leather and warm spice on the finish. Enjoy with hearty beef ragu.
