Foxglove is a project of the brothers, Jim and Bob Varner who also produce wines under the much-respected Varner and Neely labels in the Santa Cruz mountains. They farm their vineyards sustainably. On Foxglove 2016, there are some lovely hazelnut flavours to complement the crisp apple, ripe melon and stonefruit in this Chardonnay. Pair with grilled chicken breasts.

Chardonnay food pairings: lobster in butter sauce, cheese, poultry, spiced grilled seafood.

Foxglove 2016 is produced by the Varner Brothers. Foxglove is a project of the brothers, Jim and Bob Varner who also produce wines under the much-respected Varner and Neely labels in the Santa Cruz mountains. They farm their vineyards sustainably. There are some lovely hazelnut flavours to complement the crisp apple, ripe melon and stone fruit flavours in this Chardonnay. The wine is dry, medium-plus bodied and has been brought up in stainless steel with some lees stirring and no malolactic treatment. This is a very elegant Chardonnay to drink now and for the next couple of years. - Community Wine Reviews
