Reviews and Ratings

Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

For the price, this is a value fortified wine from Ontario. Aged and oaked enough to gives it a full-bodied sweet balance of a tawny port. Dried fruit and earthy notes make this a very, very interesting experiment indeed. Well worth a try!
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This port-style fortified wine from Ontario showcases notes of mincemeat pie and almonds. A wonderful fire-side sipper on a cold winter night. Tasted November 29, 2015.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby in the glass, this fortified wine from the Niagara Peninsula is made in a tawny port style and shows prominent wood aging notes on the nose with some oxidized character along with toasty almond, fig, vanilla and dried cherry/berry fruit. Sweetish on the palate, medium bodied with a long finish with drying tannins. A good pairing with aged cheeses, chocolate, dried fuits and nuts.
Tasted December 2015
Owner Allan Jackson, formerly of Jackson-Triggs, has created a Canadian port-style wine that's a blend of mainly Cabernet and Merlot grapes with a splash of Syrah and aged 6 years in oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
