Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A beautiful and complex nose, sweet and ripe, consisting of dried blackberries, fruit leather, coffee beans, caramel, brown sugar, baking spice, and sweet smoke. Tannins are firm and drying. Acidity and body in ideal proportions. Cocoa powder and dark chocolate with the slightest suggestion of vanilla on the palate. A perfect pairing for cocoa- and espresso-rubbed steak. Built to last, so no need to rush. It will be stunning through 2025 and beyond.
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The slight bit of age on this was really attractive and added depth to an already complex wine, layered with cherry fruit and tea leaves and the classic Cab Franc note of tomato juice. Elegant. Savoury. Try with beef, mushroom and snap pea stir fry with hoisin sauce. @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Franc from Niagara has a big nose of red fruit and pepper aromas. Medium tannins on the palate with a very dry finish. Decant or age further. Serve with braised red meats. Tasted February 2020.
From Vinemount Ridge, Niagara Peninsula wine region, Fogolar Picone Vineyard 2015 Cabernet Franc is elegant with ripe raspberry, cherry, white pepper, flinty flavours and balanced acidity on the palate. Produced for 30-plus year old vines. Tannins are firm. Pair with fricassee rabbit. - Community Wine Reviews
