Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This structured red is starting to develop an orange hue at the rim as we frequently see in a more mature wine.

On the nose, the fruit is declining to reveal more forest floor qualities. There are aromas of sweet autumn leaves, fruit cake, dates, and caramel.

On the palate, dates, dark berries and hazelnuts. The tannins are still very present and nicely balanced by a good acidity. A nice complex wine. Tasted October 2017.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The nose is inviting on this full bodied expressive red, crafted from 100% Tempranillo grapes. Aromas and flavors of cigar box, cherry, dried savory herbs, oak and vegetal - well balanced and quite elegant with a balanced acidity and a silky finish. Great food pairing with Filet Mignon and a Cajun vegetable ragout. Tasted October 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

What a lovely Rioja. A brilliant bouquet of blackberry, plum, cherry, vanilla, tobacco, cigar box and pepper. This combined with complex flavours of: light vanilla sugared plum, cherry, cassis and white pepper on the finish. Medium acidity, high tannins and a very long lengthy finish. Quite a flavourful foray! 89 points. Pair with barbecue pork ribs, and sausages. Tasted November 2017
