Love this southern Californian red wine made from the heartbreak grape Pinot Noir. Luscious with a satin texture and a medium body. Fleshy ripe cherry and sexy dark spice. Pair with grilled chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Elegant & fruity.Inviting aromas of ripe juicy red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and smoke (flinty minerality) dominate the nose. The palate is scrumptious. Juicy, mouthwatering red berry flavours linger on and on with balance acidity, smooth mellow tannins and a light elegant body. Enjoy pairing with winter beef stews and braises. Lots of cherry, earth, vanilla aromas, leading to a flavourful palate with same, plus touches of forest floor and cloves. Silky smooth with food-friendly acidity, rich and elegant on finish.

Paul Lupinacci rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Delicate aromas of light fruit and slight florals. On the palate the flavours of light red berries are very well balanced. The wonderful long finish has hints of tart, almost citrus. Overall this is a great Pinot Noir!
Lise Charest Gagne rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Aromas of rich red berries, roasted beet and seductive moody spice. Satisfying rich ripe cranberries and beets. It's deep, it's moody it's like a burgundy cashmere sweater. One of the best pinots I've had in a while.
Pair with a fall pork stew or a turkey feast. Tasted Sept 2017.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Absolutely gorgeous Pinot Noir from Sonoma! This one really captures all of the traditional Pinot aromas and flavours perfectly. Pale garnet in colour. It really has that classic pinot bouquet. Strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry - an abundance of all of bright red fruit. Forest floor, earth, black tea, a hint of mushroom, cedar, mint, tar, lavender and new couch leather! On the palate - tart cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, anise, nutmeg, plum, smoke, pumpkin seeds and pepper! M minus body, high acid, dry 6g/L, M+ finish. Outstanding. Pair with trout amandine, mushrooms and soft cheeses.
92 points - tasted April 2017

This Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills is an elegant, beautifully crafted wine. Aromas of leather, vanilla, spice, coffee. On the palate, black cherry, earthy tones with smooth tannins and good acidity. Long cherry finish.

Pair with salmon, roasted chicken or grilled vegetables.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A lovely example of a brilliant Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills. It is pure elegance in a glass, with lovely notes of rich dark berry, coffee, earth and cigar. The palate gives way to intense flavors of ripe cherries amidst a beautiful medley of earthiness, organic coffee and cloves. Beautifully smooth tannins.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

One of the favorite wines tasted today. Beautiful classic napa pinot nose, cherry, raspberry, and some muddiness. The wine has nice fruit, balanced with just right amount of acidicty (not to tart) and has a gentle tanin on the finish. Very very well made and approach pinot from santa lucia highland!
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A really lovely, well-balanced, beautifully crafted Pinot from the Santa Rita Hills. Gentle and harmonious on the palate - fresh cherry, raspberry, subtle spice and earthy flavours. Enjoy on its own or with a roasted beet and goat cheese salad.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Very nice Pinot Noir out of Santa Rita Hills Cali- lots going on here- aromas of black cherry, sweet spice, earthiness and hint of cigar. Lots of dark fruit flavours, with under notes of cranberry, leather and vanilla. Smooth tannins - nicely balanced. Subtle spice notes on the finish.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is the sort of wine I could smell all day long: rich, black cherry aromas, as well as hints of raspberry, cocoa, leather and cedar. On the palate, it has all the same flavour components, though they are much more subtle than on the nose. It also has a ton of mouthwatering acidity and very little tannin, making this the perfect food wine.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This California Pinot Noir is pale garnet in colour with aromas of ripe cherry, leather, cedar and strawberries. It has an abundance of ripe red fruit flavours which lead into a long finish. The acidity and alcohol are well integrated into the wine and like most Pinot Noir it has almost no tannins to speak of. This will pair well with chicken or salmon and can be enjoyed on its own.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A nicely balanced wine with red fruit and earthiness…
Presentation: Classic, formal
Appearance: Pale garnet
Nose: Wood, leather, red fruit (raspberries, strawberries)
Taste: Dry-to-off dry, medium tannins, medium-to-high acidity, light bodied, with notes of red fruit (strawberries, raspberries, cranberries), earthiness
Finish: short, earthy finish
Overall impression: A fruit forward wine, but with nicely balanced alcohol. Should go well with a variety of foods, such as grilled vegetables, stews, lamb, etc.
Value: 2/5
