A rich, unctuous Niagara Gewurztraminer with baking spice aromas in a huge and lovely way, some musky rose petal but not a lot of lychee notes. Finishes with ginger spice. Try with mild curries.

Gewürztraminer food pairings: turkey or chicken breast, mild savoury cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Gewurztraminer sourced from vines that were thought to be dead, but sprang back to life mysteriously.
This is a wonderfully made wine that exemplifies typical Gewurz. It has spice, it has lychee, it has a fantastic soft texture, but its intensity is dialed up and in-your-face.
Pretty typical pale lemon colour. Moderate alcohol.
What fantastic aromas of orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon hearts, ginger, peach, typical lychee, apple blossom, and buckwheat honey.
The wine is on the drier side, but there is a hint of residual sugar. Soft acidity, big mouthfeel, with orange, candied ginger, lemon, tangerine, baked apple, mango, and honey.
Pair this with spicy, fried catfish or crab.
Interestingly, grapevines were almost always symbols of resurrection throughout history. They die back to a nub in the dirt and then the trunks spring back to life the next year. Both Osiris and Dionysus are associated with resurrection and viticulture.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Subtle lime and lychee on the nose with a hint of cloves, refreshing palate with scrumptious flavors of grapefruit, lemon and lime, and ginger.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous Gewurztraminer possessing pretty floral notes, delicate spice, pithy grapefruit enveloped in gentle acidity with an edgy bitter finish. Love it. Don't overwhelm this with too much spicy food.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Fresh aromas of lychee fruit and lime, with citrus flavours, and a lingering grapefruit finish.
Tasted May 2017.
