Natalie's Score: 91/100 Toasty and robust with rich layers of freshly baked bread in this brilliant Ontario bubbly. Some lemon brightness through the centre and mid-palate. Lovely persistence of bubbles and a clean, crisp finish with some Granny Smith apple notes. Delightful, especially for the price. This Niagara sparkler is made using the Champagne approach and grapes (Mèthode Champenoise). It's bottle-fermented from the winery's estate-grown Chardonnay in the French Mèthode Classique. Inspired by traditions of the best sparkling wine houses of Europe, the wine is named after a woman at the heart of the winery's family - the winemaker's mother, Joyce. It's sealed with a crown-cap closure and festive red ribbon. Pair with shellfish and happiness.
Food pairings: shellfish, fried chicken, salads.
Scrumptious Seafood Wine

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review: From the vineyards planted on the rolling hills along the Niagara Escarpment comes this juicy sparkler. Vinified in the Méthode Traditionnelle from Chardonnay grapes only, and named after the winemaker’s mother, Joyce. As one of the best Canadian sparklers, it was nationally recognized as the Best Sparkling Wine of the Year at the 2015 All Canadian Wine Championships. Instead of the traditional mushroom-style cork, it’s closed by the bottle cap for easy access, no sabering required :) Well balanced and complex with crisp acidity. Aromas and flavours of lemon drops, ripe apples and buttery brioche mingle on the tongue in a cloud of fine, persistent bubbles. For a touch of heaven, pair with triple cream Brie or Camembert.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: Recently recognized as one of the finest wines in Canada! Featherstone Cuvée Joy won Best Sparkling Wine of the Year and Double Gold at the recent All-Canadian Wine Championships. The bottle cap (crown) closure is used on all traditional method sparkling wines (around the world) during their production and it's only replaced with a fancy mushroom shaped cork closure when the final product is ready (after degorgement and dosage) for cellar aging or consumers to enjoy! So, don't let this unique and very practical closure impact your perception of what's in the bottle as it's pure Joy that resides within. Tasted October 2015. 93 points. Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Made in the same traditional method used by the best French Champagne houses, but at a fraction of their price. Dry, medium-bodied with citrus, apple and brioche flavours.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Pale light straw 13.5% ABV traditional method bubbly. Refreshing, mouthwatering acidity, aromatics of crisp green apple, toasted bread. On the palate, crisp apple, raw blanched almond, almond croissant. Wonderful execution, fine bubbles.
