Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A wine found at Hidden Treasures of the LCBO dinner by Algonquin College, served with roast chicken breast with marchand de vin sauce, glazed parsnips and roasted brussels sprouts.
Wine is a deep ruby colour, with ripe red and black cherry aromas , some vanilla, sweet spice and black plum. The palate reflects the aromas. Medium plus acidity, medium bodied, medium- tannins and a slightly sweeter than dry. Wonderful with vegetarian pizza and the roast chicken from the Algonquin college dinner.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Excellent value. Aromas of red cherry and ripe strawberry, with hints of bramble, leather, and smoke. Medium bodied, with both ripe and leaning to dried berry notes, some soft, dusty tannins, and some smoke and leather hints on the finish. Enjoy with a classic sausage pizza or any hearty meat or lentil dishes.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2019 Casale Veccho is a certified organic, medium bodied red from eastern Italy's Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC appellation.

A pleasing and approachable wine, its centre piece is a through line of jammy dark berries – the main star of this show – and sweet spice, vanilla, oak, and hints of dried flowers. Texturally, it feels round, dry, with light touch acidity and small-scale ripe tannins. Enjoy.

I’ll serve this with pasta, beans or meat dishes that tilt rich and heavy.
