Fleshy ripe red cherries and berries on the nose here with some heat for unusually high alcohol for Pinot Noir, especially from Argentina's cool climate of Patagonia. Very tasty and full-bodied and extremely supple, round and mouth-filling. Pair with grilled seafood.

The Familia Schroeder Saurus Select Pinot Noir 2012 is must try for those who are fans of Pinot Noir. This wine features aromas of red berries, earth and spice that carries through to the palate. Would pair well with light seafood or lean beef. (90/100) Tasted October 27, 2014

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A hand-picked Pinot Noir from Argentina's Patagonia region. A pretty nose showing floral aromas of rose and violet along with red berries, currants and raspberries and also mushroom and mineral notes. The complex palate echoes these notes along with vanilla and cocoa. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins. Nuanced long, fruity finish. 14.5% D
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the Patagonia region of Argentina this Pinot Noir has bee fermented in Stainless Steel then aged 18 months in oak barrels. Pale ruby in the glass this medium-bodied Pinot Noir has succulent aromas of fresh berries, cherry, cherry cough syrup, earthy, vanilla, subtle oak.The palate brings forth black pepper and violets. Acidity is a little tangy but not off-putting. Long length on a warming finish. Pair with light pasta dishes, salted pork ribs.
Tsasted: October 2014
This robust Argentine Pinot Noir is intense and concentrated with ripe cherry flavours. Mocha on the finish from oak aging. The winery is located at 39 degrees latitude in the wild plains of northern Patagonia. The climate is dry and windy with a high day-night thermal fluctuation that develop a high degree of phenolic ripeness in the grapes. this wine was aged in French and American oak. - Community Wine Reviews
