Love the smoky nose on this 2017 Carmenère from Espino. Full-bodied and savoury with dark cherry, black plum and smoky vanilla flavours on the palate. Enjoy with grilled ribs and chicken from the barbie.

Carmenère food pairings: lamb cutlets, beef tenderloin, pork shoulder roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Espino Reserva Especial Carmenere 2017 exhibits high quality and Chilean savoir-faire. A blend of 85% Carmenere, 13% Malbec and 2% Syrah gives this wine aromas of blackberry, mission fig, white pepper, sweet tobacco and sandalwood. Full body with a great balance and structure, the wine’s finish will coat your palate with silk and deliver flavors of dark skin plum, cherry, black pepper, caramel and sandalwood. Enjoy!
Espino 2017 Carmenère is great value under $16. Produced by William Fèvre Chile, this medium-bodied reserva especial is floral on the nose with black cherry, dark plum, sweet spice and smoky vanilla flavours on the palate. Structured with great acidity for food. - Community Wine Reviews
