Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A satiny smooth Merlot blended with Cab and Malbec, for a mouthful of delicious flavour. Crafted from hand-harvested grapes, this gem is bursting with cassis, red plums, vanilla, herbs and sweet spice. Well-stuctured and elegant, it will enhance your favourite beef or lamb dishes.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A lovely and balanced blend of Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of currant, plum, leather, dried herb and black pepper. Full bodied, smooth and a hint of sweetness on the finish. Enjoy with roast beef.
From Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay, North Island, New Zealand, Esk Valley 2017 is a dry and elegant red wine blend of 58% Merlot, 26% Cab and 11% Malbec with elevage in French oak barrels for one year. Lots of juicy red and blackberry fruit, underbrush and toasty vanilla flavours on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
