From Agrelo, Luján De Cuyo, Mendoza wine region, Escorihuela Gascón 1884 2020 Malbec is a dry, full-bodied Argentinean Malbec produced from hand-harvested grapes sourced from vineyards planted at the foot of the Andes mountains. This is a blend based on vineyards in Agrelo (80%) with the balanced from El Cepillo, Uco Valley. Since 1884, the wines of Bodegas Escorihuela have been perfecting their craft starting with the founder Dona Miguel Escorihuela who emigrated from Spain and settled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Look for blueberry, mulberry, red berry, clove spice and mocha flavours vibrant and long on the palate.

Malbec food pairings: barbecued beef, chili con carne, mushroom burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep purple wine, with a pronounced nose of dark fruit; especially blueberry and black currant with black plum and black berry and a hint of baking spice and vanilla. The wine is dry , with medium + acidity, medium tannin and medium to medium plus body. Lovely to sip on its own, perfect with barbecued steak.
