A gloriously rich and robust Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% Cabernet France grapes in the blend from one of Chile's best-known and most-respected wineries. Classic aromas of cassis, blackberry and blackcurrant are wrapped luxuriously n vanilla smoke. Savoury, meaty and juicy with full-bodied weight and layers of dark fruit flavour. Concentrated, rich and deep. Long finish, great structure. Pair with grilled meats.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: herbed steaks, beef fajitas.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Dark inky and brooding with a deep ruby colour. This $20 red wine of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon(85%) comes from only the best grapes. Hand picked and digitally sorted for size and colour. Only 1000 cases produced and will reward after 6-8 years in the cellar. Juicy black fruit, leather, toast, mint, licorice. Full-bodied with medium+ acidity and youthful tannins. May 2015 "Wine of the Month" at the LCBO.
Decant at least 2 hours. Serve with finer cuts of red beef.
Tasted: May 2015
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The hand picked grapes aged in French oak barrels have produced a lovely wine. The rich red fruity wine is well balanced with hints of pepper and spice. It would be great paired with steak or lamb.
Marco Giovanetti rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Earthy and beautiful funky notes of bell peppers with cassis and ripe black cherry notes. In the mouth, full body with a silky mouthfell. and a wonderful acidity. Beautiful vivid blackberry flavors and a exquisite final.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Made from hand-picked grapes for a fuller fruit expression. A raspberry jam nose followed by a lovely deep raspberry cassis palate, subtle mint, mocha and slight hint of green pepper. Harmonious tannins and very smooth satisfying dark berry finish.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful deep rich ruby colour. Aromas of cassis, black currant, black pepper and a rich smokiness. On the palate the currant and cassis come through as well as a hint of mocha. Smooth with a nice long finish. Enjoy this with a beautiful steak.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

White peper, sage, vanilla, and cassis aromas with flavours of cassis, black cherry, and spices. Nice round tannnins and an acidity to match the fruit make this a very smooth Cab Sauv.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blackberry and licorice on the nose and palate with some spice in the flavor.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this full-bodied red wine are sourced from the Don Maximiano vineyard nestled in the Chilean Aconcagua Valley, which enjoys a Mediterranean climate and results in great phenolic ripeness of the grapes adding complexity and character to the wine. The grapes are hand-picked and selected and then fermented and aged in French oak barrels for one year. - Community Wine Reviews
